SHIMA SEIKI to Exhibit at 78th Pitti Filati

SHIMA SEIKI ITALIA S.p.A., Italian subsidiary of leading Japanese computerized knitting machine manufacturer SHIMA SEIKI MFG., LTD., will exhibit at the 78th Pitti Immagine Filati exhibition in Florence, Italy. It will participate in the Fashion At Work section of the exhibition aimed at appealing to the technical and creative interests of visitors by providing hardware and software solutions for design, manufacturing and processing of knitted goods.

SHIMA SEIKI's core product on display, SDS-ONE APEX3, is also at the core of the company's "Total Knitting System" concept, made possible through to its comprehensive support of the knit supply chain from planning and production to sales promotion, as well as its capability for Virtual Sampling. Ultra-realistic simulation capability allows Virtual Sampling to minimize the costly time- and resource-consuming sample-making process. Products can also be evaluated using simulation in 3D.

Also on display for the first time at Pitti Filati will be a brand-new 16-gauge version of SHIMA SEIKI's SRY183LP machine, first introduced at the ITMA 2015 exhibition in Milan in November. With its special loop presser beds, SRY is capable of producing unique hybrid knit-weave fabrics that feature inlay yarn woven into knit fabrics. As a direct response to requests for higher gauges, the long-awaited 16-gauge SRY machine has proven very popular with the Italian market, with interest gathered not only in the flat knitting industry, but in the circular knitting and weaving industries as well.

Examples of knitwear produced on its latest line of computerized knitting machines will be displayed as well, including revolutionary seam-free WHOLEGARMENT knitwear that features superior fit, comfort and draping characteristics, as well as new proposals in knitted textiles produced on the SRY machine.
