Komatsu has been included in the FTSE Blossom Japan Index

Komatsu Ltd. (President and CEO: Tetsuji Ohashi) (hereinafter "Komatsu") announces it has been included in the FTSE Blossom Japan Index.

Created by the global index company FTSE Russell, the FTSE Blossom Japan Index is designed as an industry neutral benchmark that reflects the performance of companies demonstrating strong environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices in Japan.

FTSE Russell evaluations are based on performance in areas such as Corporate Governance, Health & Safety, Anti-Corruption and Climate Change. Businesses included in the FTSE Blossom Japan Index meet a variety of environmental, social and governance criteria.

In the mid-range management plan, "Together We Innovate GEMBA Worldwide: Growth Toward Our 100th Anniversary (2021) and Beyond", which we announced in April 2016, we emphasized the importance of reinforcing ESG efforts in order for us to ensure our long-term growth and of the indispensable need for us to aggressively promote those efforts.
