American Airlines and Japan Airlines announce nonstop service from Tokyo to Las Vegas for CES® 2019
For the first time ever, American Airlines together with its Pacific joint business partner Japan Airlines (JAL) announce a special nonstop flight between Narita International Airport in Tokyo (NRT) and McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas (LAS) to support additional demand for CES® 2019. The flight will be operated daily by American as part of its joint business with JAL from Jan. 4-14, 2019.

As a part of American’s joint business with JAL, this special flight will offer quick connections to LAS for travelers in and beyond Tokyo. Travelers flying from Tokyo to LAS will have one daily nonstop and 17 easy one-stop connections through Los Angeles (LAX) and Dallas Fort Worth (DFW). For customers outside of Tokyo, the flight will offer a seamless one-stop connection to Las Vegas from Singapore (SIN), Bangkok (BKK), Jakarta (CGK), Manila (MNL), Ho Chi Minh (SGN) and Taipei (TPE).
“Travelers in Asia are discerning and want the best schedule on the best aircraft,” said Noboru Hirai, vice president of International Passenger Sales & Planning for JAL. “This special service allows us to do that, while closely working with American to tailor it to the needs of Japanese customers. This includes having our highly regarded Japanese Business Class meal on American flights, increased coordination at airports and collaborating on schedules, our network and team member training to create the premium experience customers expect.”
This special service will be flown on American’s Boeing 787-8 and will be marketed by Japan Airlines. For the 10-day period, American’s service between NRT and Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) will operate through LAS. JAL will continue to offer nonstop service between NRT and ORD during the same period. In addition to improved aerodynamics, advanced engine technology and better fuel efficiency, the 787 features a state-of-the-art onboard travel experience. The two-class aircraft offers 28 fully lie-flat Business Class seats with direct-aisle access, 55 Main Cabin Extra seats and 143 Main Cabin seats. It is equipped with satellite Wi-Fi to allow customers to stay connected and all seats offer HD touchscreen monitors with hundreds of hours of the latest movies, TV shows, and even live television to enjoy while inflight.
