Organizational and Personnel Changes
TOKYO, September 14, 2018 -- Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (TOKYO: 4519) announced today the following organizational and personnel changes, effective October 1, 2018.
【Details of Organizational Changes】
Organizational changes of Project & Lifecycle Management Unit (PLU) and Translational Clinical Research (TCR) Div.
1. Translational Research Strategy Dept. will be newly established in TCR Div.
2. Project Planning & Coordination Dept. in PLU and TCR Science & Strategy Dept. in TCR Div. will be abolished.
Background of the organizational changes
Enhancement of synergies with each department and strengthening clinical science capabilities are required to promote Chugai origin projects. For these purposes, project planning and management function for Chugai origin projects in PLU and clinical science function aiming for the early acquisition of Proof of Concept* in TCR Div. will be integrated and transferred to the newly established Translational Research Strategy Department.
* Proof of Concept (Demonstration that the therapeutic effects conceived in the research stage is effective in clinical setting)
