Masami Senda of our Unit Assembly, Service Department was selected along with 150 other Metal Machine Tool Assemblers/Adjusters of 2018 to receive an "Outstanding Engineer (Master Craftsman)" award. This marks the seventh time an Okuma employee has won this prestigious award.

Mr. Senda has been engaged in the assembly of spindle units, the most important element of the machine tool, and for many years has used various kinds of spindle assembly skills on Okuma machining centers, lathes, and grinders. He also has applied his advanced and wide-ranging technicals skills in the area of machine condition diagnostics to perform component preload and vibration adjustments.

We have dispatched our highly skilled technicians as professional examiners and lecturers to industrial high schools, as a "Total Craftsmanship Service" company," and out of a desire for society at large to promote a generous respect for human skills, Okuma also strives to nurture "engineers with excellence" by contributing to the world of manufacturing with master craftsmanship.
