AGC Announces an Organizational Change

Asahi Glass Co., Ltd.

AGC (Asahi Glass Co., Ltd.) announces an organizational change which will be implemented on
January 1, 2010 as follows.

1.

Purpose
Looking closely at mid to long term structural changes in the market, AGC pursues its
business under the management policy
Grow Beyond
to achieve further growth as a leading
global company. In order to accelerate and ensure the strategic challenge, AGC enhances its
organizational functions regarding strategic planning and production technology.
2.

Newly created organizations and missions
(1)

Group Strategy Office:
Develop group strategy to promote the management policy
Grow Beyond
.

(2)

Office of President:
Assist President and the Group Strategy Office.

(3)

Production Technology Center:
Accelerate group-wide development of production technology.

Note: In relation to the creation of those organizations, Corporate Planning Office, Technology
Planning Office, and New Business Development & Promotion Center will be abolished
on December 31, 2009.
