Shimadzu (Asia Pacific) Pte. Ltd. (SAP) and Singapore General Hospital (SGH) jointly established the SGH-Shimadzu Personomics Centre on November 22, 2024.
SGH is the flagship hospital of the SingHealth Group, Singapore's largest public healthcare group. It is a not-for-profit institution that is owned by the government and has more than 200 years of history since its establishment in 1821. The SGH-Shimadzu Personomics Centre will be established within SGH to conduct collaborative research to develop and validate workflows for antibiotic therapeutic drug monitoring, crucial for effectively treating complex and hard-to-treat bacterial infections. Shimadzu will provide support by offering advanced solutions, including the installation of liquid chromatograph mass spectrometer (LC-MS) and other state-of-the-art equipment in the laboratory.
In the efforts towards Advanced Healthcare, SAP has also collaborated with Changi General Hospital (CGH) to speed up testing for hypertension and endocrine disorders. Like SGH, CGH is a member of the SingHealth Group and is a medical institution with advanced medical technology. Shimadzu Group will continue to provide technologies and products based on the partnership with various medical institutions, aiming to increase its presence in Singapore and contribute to quality of life (QOL).
