Azbil Installs Renewable Energy Equipment at Its Manufacturing Subsidiary in China

Advancing a Group-wide Initiative Toward Achieving Net-zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 2050

TOKYO, Aug. 4, 2025: Azbil Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange Code: 6845), which aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, announces that solar power generation equipment has been installed at its manufacturing subsidiary in Dalian, China: Azbil Control Instruments (Dalian) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter ACNP; General Manager: Takahiro Minagawa). Installed in June 2025 under a power purchase agreement (PPA*) with Kanshou Architecture Factory, this equipment is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 310 tons annually. With this, the azbil Group has now introduced renewable energy at all its main production sites in Japan, China, and Thailand. Moreover, it is committed to further accelerating its efforts to achieve net zero.

As part of the service provided under this PPA, Kanshou Architecture Factory has installed solar panels capable of generating 480kW on the roof of ACNPs factory. ACNP will use this green electricity in its manufacturing processes, paying Kanshou Architecture Factory a fee based on the amount of electricity used. Renewable energy now accounts for one sixth of the electricity used in the factory, with an estimated reduction in emissions of approximately 310 tons of CO2 per year.

In line with its 2050 Long-Term Vision for Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions, the azbil Group is advancing initiatives aimed at realizing a decarbonized society. Since 2022, we have been sourcing 100% of the electricity purchased for our main production site in Japan, the Shonan Factory, from renewable energy sources, and in 2024 we concluded a PPA for our manufacturing subsidiary in Thailand, Azbil Production (Thailand) Co., Ltd. With this latest installation in China, renewable energy is now being procured for all of our major production sites in Japan, China, and Thailand.

Furthermore, we are already procuring electricity from renewable energy sources for the Fujisawa Technology Center, our largest R&D base, as well as a number of Group companies in Japan, and we are making steady progress toward achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2050.

The azbil Group will continue to promote various initiatives aimed at creating a decarbonized society—notably involving the use of renewable energy—as we contribute to realizing a sustainable society.

*PPA (power purchase agreement): A contract under which a PPA operator installs, operates and maintains solar power generation equipment on the premises of an electricity consumer, who purchases the electricity thus generated.
