Shimadzu Corporation has released 4 models in the AP W-AD ex series and 4 models in the AP W ex series of analytical balances. Both the popular AP series (released in 2017) and the high-end AP W-AD series with automatic doors and touchless sensors (released in 2021) have improved their minimum weight from 20 mg to 13 mg, achieving industry-leading performance among commercially available analytical balances (with a minimum display of 0.01 mg).
In recent years, the trend in the analytical balance industry has been to minimize the minimum weight, to meet the demands of pharmaceutical and API manufacturers. The minimum weight for analytical balances is the value determined from repeatability tests based on the examination procedures in the European Pharmacopoeia, the United States Pharmacopeia, and the Japanese Pharmacopoeia. Shimadzu, as a pioneer in analytical balances, supports research and development as well as quality control for pharmaceutical, medical equipment, and chemical manufacturers and research institutions through its high-quality products.
Features
1. Class-Leading Minimum Weight of 13 mg
By improving the weight detection mechanism and the control software, we have improved the stability and repeatability of the weight measurements. The minimum weight, as defined in the Pharmacopoeias, has been improved from 20 mg to 13 mg, as verified in shipment inspections. This value is the class-leading value for analytical balances with a minimum display of 0.01 mg.
2. Equipped as Standard with AP Holder that Enables Direct Weighing into Containers
The AP Holder, which allows containers with samples to be held above the weighing pan, is provided as standard. As a result, samples can be weighed directly and easily into volumetric flasks or other containers. Eliminating the work involved in transferring samples from weighing paper not only improves the efficiency of weighing operations but also prevents contamination. The ion radiation from the ionizer efficiently eliminates static electricity even from the bottoms of glass containers, which tend to be blind spots.
3. The AP W-AD ex Series Retains the Convenient Functions of the Previous Models
With the touchless sensor key and the smart auto door, operators can work while holding samples or spatulas, so the AP W-AD ex series ensures easy operation and improves work efficiency. Additionally, there are fewer opportunities to touch the balance, which helps prevent infections and ensure safety.
