FUJIFILM Business Innovation Receives EcoVadis Platinum Sustainability Medal Awarded to Top 1% of Companies
November 19, 2025
Tokyo, November 19, 2025 – FUJIFILM Business Innovation announces that it has received the Platinum Medal from EcoVadis, a business sustainability ratings provider, for the fourth time. The Platinum rating is granted only to the top 1% of companies among more than 150,000 organizations across 250 industries in over 185 countries worldwide.
EcoVadis evaluates companies' ESG policies and initiatives in four categories: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement*1. The Platinum rating indicates that FUJIFILM Business Innovation reached exemplary levels of performance in all these categories, demonstrating global recognition of the company’s commitment to sustainability.
This year, FUJIFILM Business Innovation was highly recognized for its continuous efforts across all categories. In addition to consistently scoring over 90 out of 100 points in the Environment category every year, the company scored above 80 points in both Labor & Human Rights and Ethics, underscoring its unwavering commitment to sustainability.
In the Environment category, FUJIFILM Business Innovation focuses on addressing climate change and promoting resource circulation as priority issues, while striving to develop products that help reduce environmental impact. Specific initiatives include the development of toner that contributes to decreased power consumption during the fusing process on paper, reducing new use of natural resources through product downsizing and weight reduction, and designing them with resource circulation in mind. As a result, the A3 digital color multifunction printers Apeos C3067 and Apeos C3061 series became the first products from a Japanese company to receive the Green Product Mark, a sustainability certification granted by TÜV Rheinland*2, an internationally recognized third-party inspection body. Furthermore, FUJIFILM Business Innovation has been implementing its recycling policy “Promoting Resource Circulation Toward Zero Waste” since 1995. The company operates a remanufactured machine business in accordance with this policy. This involves disassembling, cleaning, and repairing used devices, replacing or adjusting parts that do not meet quality standards, and assigning a new product name*3 and serial number before selling them as new products. In addition, the company has forged strong partnerships with resource recycling partners to further promote reuse and recycling.
Through these initiatives, FUJIFILM Business Innovation has consistently achieved “Zero Waste” (with a recycling rate of 99.5% or higher) for collected products in Japan for over 25 years. Furthermore, the company is expanding its resource circulation efforts globally, including the sale of remanufactured machines in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2008, we established FUJIFILM Eco-Manufacturing (Suzhou) Corp. in Suzhou, as a recycling hub for collected used products from across Chinese Mainland. In 2024, the company established the Circular Manufacturing Center (CMC) in the Netherlands to promote resource circulation in Europe and is planning to open another CMC in the Philippines in 2026 as a key hub for resource circulation in the Asia-Pacific region, further accelerating the realization of a circular economy.
In the Labor & Human Rights and Ethics categories, FUJIFILM Group has strengthened initiatives in response to the growing global focus on human rights and diversity. Since fiscal year 2019, global training programs have been implemented to foster deeper understanding of the Corporate Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics, which mention topics such as harassment prevention and anti-corruption measures. All executives and employees must submit a compliance declaration that explicitly states their commitment to “Understand, Comply, and Act,” thereby prompting concrete actions. Furthermore, in March 2024, the Diverse Stories vision was introduced, based on respect for human rights, under the theme “Recognizing Diverse Stories*4.” Guided by this vision, efforts are being made to create an environment where every employee can feel secure and empowered to shape their own story.
FUJIFILM Business Innovation will continue to drive initiatives under the FUJIFILM Group’s CSR plan, Sustainable Value Plan 2030 (SVP2030), by strengthening efforts in the Environment area, including addressing climate change and promoting resource circulation. In addition, the company will enhance CSR Initiatives across the entire supply chain, covering environment, ethics, and human rights, with the aim of contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.
