Shinsei Bank has been named Best Retail Bank in Japan in The Asian Banker Excellence in Retail Financial Services Awards 2010. This is the second consecutive year that Shinsei Bank has received this award, which it has now won for four of the past six years.

Organized by The Asian Banker, a research and intelligence company, this annual awards programme has been recognizing companies that provide outstanding financial services for individual customers since its establishment in 2001. Now in its ninth year, the 2009 Awards evaluated over 120 retail banks and financial institutions from 23 countries (eight in Japan) across the Asia Pacific, Gulf and Central Asian regions.
