Commander of the Order of the Crown of Belgium

Masahiro Kadomatsu, the Chairman of the Board of AGC (Asahi Glass Co., Ltd.; Head Office: Tokyo; President &
CEO: Kazuhiko Ishimura) was awarded Commander of the Order of the Crown of Belgium. On May 21
st
, 2010, he
received the decoration from Mr. Jean-Claude Marcourt, the Vice-President and Minister of Foreign Trade of the
Walloon Region, at the Belgian ambassador's residence in Tokyo.
He is the third recipient of the Commander of the Order of the Crown in AGC after Hiromichi Seya (then
Chairman) and Shinya Ishizu (then President) both awarded in 2001.
The Commander of the Order of the Crown is awarded by the King of Belgium to those who rendered special
services to the country. Masahiro Kadomatsu was awarded for the company’s contributions to the economy and
industrial circle of the Belgian state as well as the development of longstanding human exchanges between both
countries through AGC Glass Europe S.A (former Glaverbel S.A.). It is a comprehensive glass manufacturer in
Belgium; AGC started an equity participation in 1981 and made the company a wholly-owned subsidiary in 2002.
