Announcement on Changes to Board of Directors

SUMCO Corporation hereby announces that the following changes are decided at
board of directors meeting, today.
Effective on May 29
th
2009, Board of Directors has appointed the company's Vice
President, Yoichi Taguchi, to be SUMCO's new President.
Mr. Kenjiro Shigematsu, current President, will be Advisor of the Company.
