Introducing two new lenses in Micro Four Thirds system
M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 75–300mm f4.8–6.7 (35mm equiv. 150–600mm)
M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 40–150mm f4.0–5.6 (35mm equiv. 80–300mm)
with supporting Movie & Still compatibility
Olympus Imaging Corporation (President: Masaharu Okubo) is pleased to announce the addition of two new lenses to its Micro Four Thirds System lens lineup: the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 75–300mm f4.8–6.7 and M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 40–150mm f4.0–5.6. Designed to maximize the performance advantages of the Micro Four Thirds System, the new lenses offer uncompromising SLR quality and supports movie & still image compatibility. This addition enriches the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL lens lineup by covering the focal length from 18mm to 600mm in 35mm equivalent.
The M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 75–300mm f4.8–6.7 will be available in December 2010, while the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 40–150mm f4.0–5.6 will be available in November 2010.
The newly announced M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 75–300mm F4.8–6.7 lens is a super telephoto zoom that boasts a focal length range equivalent to 150–600mm on a 35mm camera. Previous lenses offering 35mm equivalent focal lengths of 600mm or more were invariably large, heavy, making it difficult for most users to enjoy the benefits of super telephoto shooting. The new M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 75–300mm F4.8–6.7, however, takes advantage of the Micro Four Thirds System's high mobility to bring these benefits to a wide range of users. Although boasting a zoom range equivalent to 150–600mm on a 35mm camera, it weighs only 430g.
M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 40–150mm F4.0–5.6 is extremely light (190g). Its wide zoom range is equivalent to 80–300mm on a 35mm camera, and its Micro Four Thirds System design offers outstanding portability that makes interchangeable lens photography easier.
Both lenses offer quieter and more responsive AF performance, and offer SLR image quality for still–image and movie shooting. They are compatible with all Micro Four Thirds System OLYMPUS PEN cameras, and all other current and future cameras that comply with the Micro Four Thirds System standard. When mounted on an OLYMPUS PEN camera, the lenses support the camera body's built–in image stabilization system and offer effective shake compensation at all focal lengths.

Excellent portability for both of movie and still image shooting
1.Super Telephoto shooting without tripod
Despite offering super telephoto performance equivalent to 150–600mm on a 35mm camera, the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 75–300mm F4.8–6.7 weighs only 430g.It is less than 70% the size and the weight of the ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 70–300mm f4.0–5.6.
A conventional SLR camera body and a lens with 600mm focal length (35mm equivalent) weighs more than 1500g.On the contrary, an Olympus PEN E–PL1 with this lens mounted weighs only 726g.
Compact enough to enable handheld shooting at the equivalent of 600mm, its super telephoto zoom significantly expands shooting opportunities with its easy handling and outstanding portability.
2.High–speed and silent autofocus to support movie shooting
The inner focusing mechanism uses a light, compact, focusing unit combined with two lenses to enable exceptionally fast, quiet autofocusing for smooth, stress–free still–image and movie shooting.
Excellent image quality
1.Sophisticated optics
include one piece of the Super Extra–low Dispersion lens and the two pieces of Extra–low Dispersion lens in order to eliminate effectively the chromatic aberrations.
Three pieces of HR (high-refractive index glass) lenses reduce the size of the optics as well as various aberrations across the entire zoom range.
2. Full multicoating of all elements
All lens elements are multi–coated to ensure maximum light transmission and image clarity, with minimal ghosting and flaring in backlight.
3. Circular aperture mechanism
A circular aperture mechanism is used to ensure smooth, even background defocusing.
