Tokyo Disney Resort Merchandise Recall

URAYASU, CHIBA— Oriental Land Co., Ltd. has announced the recall of Tokyo DisneySea “Chocolate-Covered Cookies” and “Chocolates and Cookies” (both produced by Reman Co., Ltd. at its Wako factory) which were sold at shops within Tokyo Disney Resort. Reman informed Oriental Land that its internal investigation had found that the chocolate used as one of the ingredients for the cookies had exceeded its “best by” date. Oriental Land stopped sales of these two products (see attachment) immediately upon receiving this information.
The products have already been submitted to a public body for investigation and it
has been determined that consumption of the cookies will not adversely affect a person’s health.
Oriental Land previously requested all the companies producing merchandise for
Tokyo Disney Resort to investigate the “best by” date of the ingredients being used. All the companies reported that no expired ingredients had been used. However, this time, as the result of a subsequent check, Reman discovered the current matter.
Guests who have purchased the above products and have them in their possession
are requested to send them with their packaging, together with their name, address and phone number, to the address below with the postage to be paid by Oriental Land. A refund will be sent at a later date. Cooperation in this recall effort is greatly appreciated.
Oriental Land considers this to be a serious matter and sincerely apologizes to its
guests for this unfortunate occurrence. Please see attachment for details.
