SG Holdings Co., Ltd. has released its "CSR Report 2010," detailing the Group's CSR activities in fiscal 2009.
The purpose of this report is to publicize the CSR activities of SG Holdings Group and thereby enhance the reliability and transparency of such activities. In 2000, we began issuing our Environmental Report, which focused on our environmental conservation activities. In 2003, we also began introducing general information concerning our "safety activities" and "social activities" in addition to our conservation activities under the new title, Sustainability Report. However, since the report focuses on our general CSR activities, we updated the title to CSR Report in the previous fiscal year.
In the report for this fiscal year, SG Holdings Group, which aims at stakeholder management, clearly conveys the following messages: We will (1) improve the service levels for our customers; (2) stabilize and improve our employees' living standards; (3) make efforts to improve safety in local communities and contribute to improving the local environment; (4) enhance our corporate value for shareholders; and (5) ensure fair and impartial transactions for all our clients. Our new special feature story, "4 Eyes," focuses on the opinions of Kikuko Tatsumi, Permanent Director of the Environmental Committee, Nippon Association of Consumer Specialists—from a consumer point of view; and of Takejiro Sueyoshi, Special Advisor to the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative—from an intellectual point of view. We also sought out the opinions of the customers and employees of SG Holdings Group in order to represent their points of views. We further improved the report by adding details of our "business activities" to the conventional report items, such as "environmental activities," "safety activities," and "social activities." To enable our many stakeholders to easily read our CSR Report 2010, we have used straightforward and familiar expressions and incorporated "color universal design"(*1) features in its production.
As a group of companies that uses public roads in our core operations, SG Holdings Group will continue to help realize a sustainable society, placing the highest priority on safety and environmental issues and contributing to a harmonious relationship between society and nature.
