Net One Systems commences sales of Arbor Networks PeakflowSP for traffic analysis and security compliance
Net One Systems Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Shinagawa-Ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Osamu Sawada, hereinafter Net One Systems) and Arbor Networks, Inc. (headquarters: Massachusetts, CEO: Jack Boyle, hereinafter Arbor Networks) signed a Japan distributor agreement.Based on this distributor agreement, Net One Systems commenced sales of PeakflowSP product for traffic analysis and security compliance from June 1, 2007.
Importance of traffic management
In recent years increasing number of applications use IP.With regard to the Internet, the increase in P2P and multimedia services lead to explosive increase in traffic and diversification of the network traffic. As a result, backbone network faces many challenges. This includes traffic management which requires immediate attention. For traffic management, rather than simply increasing the scale of the facility, management and operation method of bandwidth based on traffic policy is focused as an effective way to realizes cost reduction.
As a method of network traffic analysis, in addition to SNMP (footnote 1), DPI (footnote 2) and in-line device for bandwidth management device, there is a method for using routers/switches flow information (Netflow (footnote 3), sflow (footnote 4), etc.) for comprehensive traffic trend analysis. The characteristics of this method are as follows:
Analysis at application level
Flow data includes TCP/UDP port number information and as they are linked to services (telnet, http, etc.), service level analysis is possible.
Diversified analysis allowing pervasive network visibility
All points with flow information switched on are analysis points of traffic. Due to this, analysis based on pervasive network visibility is realized
Capable of supporting higher speed networks
By capturing flow information from routers/switches, network load is minimized and information gathering is possible at 10G level high speed interface. Characteristics of PeakflowSP
Arbor Networks PeakflowSP is a flow collector appliance product that collects flow information from routers/switches to perform traffic analysis.
In addition to flow data, by collecting BGP/SNMP information, the product allows carriers and ISPs to perform comprehensive traffic analysis.
Intra-web traffic analysis and peering analysis
Traffic trend is analyzed based on traffic flow information such as application, packet length, and IP address.By referencing BGP routing table, traffic trend based on individual AS is possible and can be used as peering analysis for telecom carriers and ISPs as well as index for expansion projects.
Anomaly detection of the traffic
By accumulating and learning normal traffic, the product automatically detects and alerts traffic anomaly. The product detects DDos (footnote 5) and also notifies increase in specific applications as worm and Botnet. Effect of implementing PeakflowSP
By implementing PeakflowSP, application traffic analysis is possible. In addition to designing the users own web policy, provision of security management service for user customers is possible.
Target Market
Targets over 20 system installations to large scale SI companies, contents service providers and telecom carriers.Prices start at 12,393,000 yen.
Sales Commencement Date
June 1, 2007
