JT to Launch Pianissimo Super Slims Menthol One
Tokyo, October 6, 2010 --- Japan Tobacco Inc. (JT) (TSE: 2914) today announced a nationwide launch at the beginning of November 2010 of Pianissimo Super Slims Menthol One, a new addition to the domestically best-selling*1 100mm slim menthol brand Pianissimo.
Pianissimo made its commercial debut in 1995 as Japans first low-odor low-smoke*2 menthol cigarette. Its smooth, unassertive and refreshing menthol flavor and aroma, plus the feature and design to meet the demands of the times, made the series a phenomenal hit. It is still very popular today and remains the top brand of 100mm slim menthols.
JT adds its unique super slim product to its current domestic product lines
Presenting Pianissimo Super Slims Menthol One, a new style of cigarette
To meet the diversifying needs of consumers, the new Pianissimo Super Slims Menthol One has adopted the super slim format, the unique attempt among JTs current domestic lineup.
The global market for super slims is on the rise.*3 Pianissimo is the No. 1 brand in the domestic 100mm slim menthol market. By making Super Slims Menthol One part of the Pianissimo line, we hope not only to offer consumers more options but also to meet the expectations of the consumers for the future of the brand.
The packaging reflects the “super slim” cigarette size and it is very compact and portable in spite of containing 20 cigarettes. Champagne Gold was used for the base color to make it a sophisticated but stylish package.
While Super Slims Menthol One follows in the footsteps of the Pianissimo for its smooth, unassertive and refreshing aroma and flavor, it features the flavored thread function*4 in its filters to produce a stronger menthol sensation.
D-spec*5 technologies have also been incorporated to reduce unpleasant cigarette smells.
JT is committed to offering products and services whose quality meets and exceeds consumer expectations, not just for Pianissimo Super Slims Menthol One but for all of our products.
