Marubeni acquires 49% ownership interest in Raleigh Wind Energy Centre Project,
a 78MW wind farm in Ontario, Canada
Marubeni Corporation (Marubeni) is pleased to announce that it has completed a transaction with Invenergy Wind LLC (Invenergy) to acquire a 49% ownership interest in Invenergys Raleigh Wind Energy Centre (Raleigh), a 78 megawatt (MW) wind farm under construction in Ontario, Canada. Raleigh will be Marubenis first power project investment in Canada.
Invenergy and its affiliated companies develop, own and operate large-scale renewable and other clean energy generation facilities in North America and Europe. One of the top six largest owners of wind generating projects in the United States, Invenergy and its affiliates have developed and placed in service twenty wind farms and five natural gas-fueled generating facilities, with an aggregate capacity of approximately five thousand megawatts.
Raleigh will be the second investment to be jointly owned by Marubeni and Invenergy. Since 2009, Marubeni and Invenergy have jointly owned a separate portfolio consisting of 1,041MW of gas-fired thermal power stations in the United States.

This acquisition increases Marubenis global generation capacity to 25,933MW (gross) and 7,409MW (net), making it the largest overseas power generation portfolio owned by a Japanese company.
