New Tsubaki Emerson Emerworm SWJ/SWJM Series Hollow Output Shaft-type Worm Gear Reducer
High transmission capacity and high efficiency contribute to energy efficiency
Tsubaki Emerson Co. (President: Tadashi Ichikawa; Headquarters: Nagaokakyo, Kyoto; A subsidiary of Tsubakimoto Chain Co.) has added the new Tsubaki Emerson Emerworm SWJ/SWJM Series, a compact, environmentally-friendly, hollow output shaft-type worm gear reducer, to its Tsubaki Emerson Emerworm worm reducer lineup. Sales of the new product will commence April 1.

Worm gears produce extremely low levels of vibration and noise because they involve sliding contact. Compared to other types of gears, a pair of worm gears can deliver a large reduction ratio (generally in the range of 1/10 to 1/60). Moreover, due to the backstop (self-locking) action offered by worm gears with small lead angles, they are frequently employed in opening and closing devices and lifting equipment.
Tsubaki Emerson released the Tsubaki Emerson Emerworm SW/SWM Series of worm gear reducers in 1999. Like the medium and large models in the series, the compact, size 70 model has been updated through performance and efficiency improvements to an environmentally-friendly model in order to meet needs for energy efficiency. With the addition of new size 50 and size 63 reducers, the lineup of hollow output shaft models has been re-launched as the Tsubaki Emerson Emerworm SWJ/SWJM Series. At the same time, the compact, solid output shaft-type Tsubaki Emerson Emerworm EWJ/EWJM Series has also been updated to an environmentally-friendly lineup. This series upgrade provides greater choice to ensure that customers are able to select a model to best suit their needs.
Features
- Flexible installation
A special case allows the reducer to be freely installed in any direction, providing excellent durability and ease-of-use. - High transmission capacity
Tsubaki Emerson has pursued the ultimate in gear tooth surface power transmission. High power transmission is ensured by using the same special lubricant employed on large models to improve sliding performance. - High efficiency
Optimal tooth surface design that lowers gear-mesh loss and a special lubricant reduce the coefficient of friction on tooth surface to achieve high efficiency. - High functionality
Like large models, the SWJ/SWJM Series uses Tsubaki Emerson's new proprietary oil seal construction, which prevents the intrusion of abrasion powder and delivers improved oil seal life.
Applications
Suited to use in a wide variety of applications including lifts, conveyors, and automatic and specialized equipment.
