Tokyo, Japan -- Jupiter Telecommunications Co., Ltd. (JASDAQ: 4817), the largest multiple system operator (MSO) in Japan based on the number of customers served, has announced that the total subscribing households as of March 31, 2009 served by J:COMs 24 consolidated franchises reached 3.18 million, up 466,500, or 17.2% since March 31, 2008. Combined revenue generating units (RGUs) for cable television, high-speed Internet access and telephony services reached 5.67 million, up 851,100 or 17.6% since March 31, 2008. The bundle ratio (average number of services received per subscribing household) was unchanged at 1.78 as of March 31, 2009 from March 31, 2008, due to the inclusion of Jyohoku New Media Co., Ltd. (Taito Cable Television) and former Mediatti group companies (Mediatti). The ratio excluding Taito Cable Television and Mediatti increased to 1.81 as of March 31, 2009 from 1.78 as of March 31, 2008. The cable television digital migration rate as of March 31, 2009 increased to 82% from 70% as of March 31, 2008.
