Support for People and Areas Affected by the Tohoku–Pacific Ocean Earthquake
We express our deepest sympathy for all the people affected by the Tohoku–Pacific
Ocean Earthquake on March 11, 2011.
Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Tsuyoshi Okamoto) is
donating 100 million yen through the Japanese Red Cross Society for relief and
restoration of people and areas affected by the earthquake. In addition, we are delivering
10,000 emergency meals to the affected areas, utilizing our rice stored against
emergencies.
We are also forwarding a contribution of US$500,000 (about 40 million yen) from Gas
Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (Head Office: Selangor, Malaysia; Managing Director: Datuk
Muhamad Noor Hamid) – one of Tokyo Gas’s affiliates. In addition, we have also asked
for disaster relief contributions from companies and employees throughout “All Tokyo
Gas” (i.e. Tokyo Gas group and cooperating companies).
Tokyo Gas is currently part of the Japan Gas Association’s disaster relief team,
dispatched and endeavoring to restore city gas supplies and service to the affected areas.
We, at “All Tokyo Gas” will continue to do our best for the restoration.
We pray for the relief for the people and earliest possible restoration in all affected
areas.
