Notice Concerning Change of Largest Major Shareholder

Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd. (the “Company”) hereby announces that, as of March 16, 2011, the
Company confirmed a change of its largest major shareholder.

1. Background of the change

NIPRO CORPORATION and the joint holder of Company’s shares jointly submitted a Change Report
Pertaining to Report of Possession of Large Volume No. 6 to the Director-General of Kinki Local
Finance Bureau on March 16, 2011. Accordingly, the Company issues this release based on the said
Change Report.

the voting rights ratio to the voting rights held by all the shareholders are all those related to shares contributed to the Employee Pension Trust, for which NEC Corporation reserves the right to authorize the exercise of voting rights.
