Attendance Figures for Fiscal Year 2010
URAYASU, CHIBA—
Tokyo Disney Resort® announced today that the total combined
attendance at
Tokyo Disneyland® Park and
Tokyo DisneySea® Park during the fiscal
year 2010 (April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011) amounted to 25,366,000 persons (98.2% or
minus 452,000 persons of the attendance figure for the previous year).
Attendance for fiscal year 2010 rose for the first three quarters and into the fourth
quarter. The positive growth can be attributed to several factors including the success of
the many special events held at both of the Parks, the opening of the new attraction
Mickey’s PhilharMagic at Tokyo Disneyland in January 2011, and the favorable weather
conditions throughout the year.
However, due to the Tohoku Pacific Earthquake, operation of the two Parks had to
be suspended, thereby resulting in an annual attendance figure that fell short of both the
forecast for the year and the attendance results of the previous year.
Current Conditions of Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea
Upon inspection of the buildings and facilities at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea
following the earthquake, the safety of both Parks has been confirmed. Accordingly, they are
ready for opening and the aim is to reopen as soon as possible. The reopening of the Parks will
be notified as soon as a date has been determined.
Please see the following website for current conditions of the buildings and facilities at Tokyo
Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea (as of March 28).
