Donation for the 2011 Japan Earthquake and Tsunami

All members of Mizuho would like to extend their deepest condolences to all those
who lost family members in the earthquake and tsunami that struck northeastern Japan
on March 11 this year, and extend their heartfelt sympathies to those who have suffered
other losses or injury.

Mizuho will make a combined donation of 650 million yen, including 100 million yen
from Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. (President & CEO: Takashi Tsukamoto) itself
announced on March 12, 2011, to support all those affected in the disaster-struck area
and aid in the recovery of the afflicted regions.

The donation will actually be made as soon as the disaster-struck parties are in a
position to receive the funds.

All employees within Mizuho sincerely hope that the afflicted areas will be able to
make a swift and full recovery.
