Gas Sales Volume for the month April 2011

Total gas sales volume by Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd., for the month of April 2011 came to about 1,176.78 million m3, decreased by 41.963 million m3 (-3.4%) from April 2010.
In the residential sector, volume totaled 366.09 million m3, down 5.5% from April 2010, due to higher average temperature in April than in the previous year, which decreased the demand for air-conditioning and water-heating.
In the business sector (consisting of commercial, public, and medical use), with fewer metering days compared to last April and the decreased operation rate on the part of existing facilities, the volume decreased by 12.8% to 199.455 million m3.
In the industrial sector, volume totaled about 433.98 million m3, up 4.3% from last year due to existing customers’ demand increase, etc.
Volume for wholesale supply to other gas companies totaled about 177.254 million m3, down 5.1% from April 2010 due to decreased demand of wholesale gas suppliers.
