Volunteers from INPEX assist with recovery from the Great East Japan
Earthquake and Tsunami
INPEX CORPORATION (INPEX) is pleased to announce that it supports INPEX employees who are encouraged to take a volunteer leave to assist with recovery from the recent East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami by providing them with the accommodations, transportation fares etc. for their activities.
On 22nd July 2011 thirty-one INPEX employees (from Tokyo head office) participatied in the recovery work as volunteers supported by the company to assist with the local residents in Rikuzen-Takada City, Iwate Prefecture, which was afflicted by the recent East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. INPEX will continue to support its employees for such recovery activities by providing them with the leave and the necessary expenditures incurred.
INPEX conveys its heartfelt condolences to those affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. INPEX sincerely hopes for the earliest recovery of the afflicted areas.
INPEX supported its employees who volunteered to assist with recovery work from the Great East Japan Earthquake by:
- Encouraging INPEX employees to take volunteer leave of a maximum of five days per year,
- Providing them with the accommodations, transportation fares and the expenses of means and tools for recovery works.
The details of the activities on 22nd July 2011 conducted by INPEX employees:
- took a volunteer leave on 22nd July,
- a bus ride was provided by INPEX for round trip
- removed the rubble and debris,leaned up the farms and mowed the grass under the guidance of the members of Volunteer Centre of Rikuzen Takada City, Iwate Prefecture,
- Thirty-one persons ( 20 men and 11 women) participated.
Note: In addition to the above, INPEX employees of its domestic offices have participated in other volunteer activities.
