NTT DATA Accepted an Order of Flight Procedure Design System from JICA

NTT DATA has received a purchase order for NTT DATA's proprietary PANADES flight procedure design system from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The system is introduced as one of Technical Corporations projects for Directorate General of Civil Aviation and Education and Training Agency of Indonesia, and JICA considers PANADES as one of the essential equipment for the project for Improvement on Aviation Safety Policy. PANADES will be used from April 2012.

About the project

Lately, JICA has been working on Technical Cooperation projects in aviation sector for Southeast Asian Countries.

As a part of the 5 year project for Improvement on Aviation Safety Policy for Indonesia, JICA has been offering supports to launch professional work group for aviation, and also offering knowledge, technology, and know-how related to flight procedure design since July 2011.

The project aims at developing educational training in aviation sector for Directorate General of Civil Aviation, and Education and Training Agency of Indonesia in order to prepare for the next generation CNS/ATM system.

Back ground

JICA invited tenders for an equipment required for the project of "Indonesian aviation safety development", and NTT DATA concluded a contract on July 27th 2011.

Brief Overview

Directorate General of Civil Aviation of Indonesia will conduct training and designing flight procedure by PANADES.

About PANADES

The purpose of the PANADES system is to design aircraft flight procedures based on international standards. Designing flight procedures needs to consider numerous factors including aircraft performance, landforms, artificial obstacles and weather conditions for each segment of design, and then accurately and faultlessly conduct intricate calculations, such as complex geometric computations or the calculation of various parameters according to the characteristics of a given aircraft category. PANADES has capability for automatic processing of many of the complicated calculations required to design flight procedures, and features the ability to automatically create flight areas by entering a minimum of parameters. This reduces the time required to design flight procedures and enhances safety by ensuring the quality and reliability of design output.
