[Sagawa Global Logistics] 3PL service to be launched for the clothing industry in Vietnam

| Sagawa Global Logistics Co.,Ltd., a member of SG Holdings Group, which offers international logistics services will launch needle detection and product inspection service for clothing, sundries and the like in Vietnam through its subsidiary Sagawa Express Vietnam Co.,Ltd. Prior to this launch, the subsidiary acquired a license from the Vietnamese government for needle detection and product inspection services, and formed a business tie-up with Fashion Cloth Furushima Co.,Ltd., which offers needle detection and product inspection services extensively in China. With this business partner, Sagawa Express Vietnam will launch a needle detection and product inspection service on September 1, 2011. |

Established as a joint venture company between Sagawa Global Logistics and a Vietnamese company in June 1997, Sagawa Express Vietnam mainly offers air and ocean import and export service, domestic trucking service and warehousing service, with its sales branch offices in Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi and Da Nang.
Currently, sewing plants in the suburbs of urban areas in China face surging labor costs and manpower shortages, and their production capacity is largely dominated by major European and American manufacturers as well as Chinese clothing manufacturers. Against this backdrop, some Japanese manufacturers are shifting their production to Vietnam, a promising destination under the "China plus one" strategy. Last year, Sagawa Global Logistics, a 3PL service provider in Japan that serves many clients in the clothing industry, acquired two logistics companies based in Shanghai and Qingdao (which now operate as Sagawa Silox Shanghai Co.,Ltd. and Sagawa Silox Qingdao Co.,Ltd.) and launched a needle detection and product inspection service in China. The company also plans to expand this service in Vietnam.
Sagawa Global Logistics can now offer customers integrated logistics services including needle detection and product inspection service, combining Sagawa Express Vietnam's existing core services—air and ocean import and export service, domestic trucking service and warehousing service (for general, bonded and CFS cargo)—and Fashion Cloth Furushima's know-how in needle detection and product inspection. |
