PSS reaches an agreement with Hai Kang Life Corporation to develop a genetic diagnostic instrument
Matsudo, Japan, July 5, 2011- Precision System Science, Co., Ltd (PSS) announced today that PSS and Hai Kang Life Corporation Limited (HKLife, a Hong Kong based biotechnology company) reached an agreement for the co-development of genetic diagnostic instrument. Under the agreement, PSS will develop compact genetic analyzer named “Bio Reader”, in collaboration with HKLife’s team of scientists for its EFADchip®, the HKLife’s originally developed patented technology.
The Bio Reader/ EFADchip® system is expected to be marketed toward medical facilities ranged from large hospitals to small clinics all over the world for disease diagnosis, particularly infectious diseases. HKLife has become the first Asian company (excluding Japan) for PSS to come to a development agreement.
PSS believes that the agreement with the HKLife proved credibility of PSS instrumentation technologies not only in Europe and United states but in Asia, where the molecular diagnosis market is rapidly growing. PSS will further develop automated instruments in various areas to expand use of genetic analysis and in vitro diagnostics.
