PSS and Life Technologies make an amendment to OEM agreement to expand to sample preparation before next generation sequencer

May 27, 2011- Precision System Science, Co., Ltd (PSS) announced today that PSS and Life Technologies Corporationhave made an amendment to their Development and Supply Agreement (OEM agreement) expanding its scope to the sample preparation process before next generation sequencer (NGS).

PSS and Life Technologies have been in OEM agreement on DNA/RNA extractors since May 2006 and cultivated mutual trust through the business development. PSS believes the amendment has proved credibility and applicability of PSS instrumentation Technology.

While use of NGS, which enables high-speed genetic analysis with affordable cost, is expected, the existence of complicated and time-consuming manual sample preparation process has hampered the further spread of such analysis. The automation of sample preparation process could contribute to wider use of NGS. PSS will develop automated instruments in various areas to expand genetic analysis and in vitro diagnostics.
