Nippon Express to begin direct Hong Kong-Sendai consolidated ocean cargo service

Nippon Express (H.K.) Co., Ltd. (Takashi Wada, President), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Kenji Watanabe, President), will be launching a direct consolidated ocean cargo service from Hong Kong to Sendai this month.

Consolidated ocean cargo shipments from Hong Kong to Sendai have heretofore required that containers by opened and reconsolidated in the transit port of Tokyo before being forwarded, but this newly instituted service will simply transship the containers unopened to another vessel for delivery to the Sendai CFS, cutting transport time from the current 15 days to about eight days. This service will also reduce the risk of damage to goods during transshipment.

Our company is committed to making further service improvements for consolidated ocean cargo being shipped from overseas locations to local ports in Japan in order to satisfy the diversifying needs of our customers.
