Nippon Express (H.K.) Co., Ltd. (Takashi Wada, President), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Kenji Watanabe, President), will be launching a direct consolidated ocean cargo service from Hong Kong to Sendai this month.
Consolidated ocean cargo shipments from Hong Kong to Sendai have heretofore required that containers by opened and reconsolidated in the transit port of Tokyo before being forwarded, but this newly instituted service will simply transship the containers unopened to another vessel for delivery to the Sendai CFS, cutting transport time from the current 15 days to about eight days
