-- Office to provide high-quality logistics services in major automotive industry center --
Nippon Express (Russia) LLC (president: Kenji Kaneko), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (president: Kenji Watanabe), opened a new office in the city of Togliatti in the Russian Federation's Samara Region on April 1, 2012.
Russia has seen a growing number of automobiles sold domestically in recent years, and the country is expected one day to become Europe's largest automobile market. Located about 1,000km southeast of Moscow, Togliatti is known as a key center for the automotive industry and headquarters for Russia's largest automotive manufacturers.
Nippon Express is actively engaged in automotive-related logistics on a global basis and, to bolster its logistics operations within Russia, it has decided to open up an office in Togliatti, the first Japanese logistics company to do so.
The Togliatti Office will offer transport services utilizing a wide variety of modes (marine, air, railway and truck transport) and will provide support for navigating Russia's complex customs clearance procedures to ensure seamless logistics. The Office will also seek to utilize routes transiting ice-free Black Sea ports and take other steps as weather and infrastructure permit to enhance logistics services for marine cargo bound for destinations in inland Russia.
Nippon Express pledges to continue improving its services and expanding its overseas network to satisfy the diversifying and increasingly sophisticated logistics needs of customers.
