Tokyo, April 11, 2012 --- Japan Tobacco Inc. (JT) (TSE: 2914) has announced that its new ''Hi-Lite Inazma Menthol 8 Box'' and ''Hi-Lite Inazma Menthol One Box,'' featuring a super strong menthol sensation, will go on sale across Japan in mid-May 2012.

The demand for a strong menthol sensation has gained a particularly high momentum, as the share of menthol products in the cigarette market has been recently growing(*). The two ''Hi-Lite Inazma Menthol'' products consisting of 8mg and 1mg tar to be launched by JT feature ''super strong menthol,'' a sharp but rough menthol sensation.
The package, while maintaining the simple design composition of ''High-Lite,'' expresses a ''boldness'' and ''dynamism'' not bound to the confines by extending the logo from the front and indicates the difference in tar by using separate background colors of black and white. Moreover, in order to express the featured smoking feel of ''super strong menthol,'' it has been given the name Inazuma, which means a bolt of lightening.
The launch of two ''Hi-Lite Inazma Menthol'' products will strengthen JT's menthol product lineup as the company evolves in its pursuit of further increasing consumer satisfaction.
