Nippon Express to open sub-branch in Vladivostok
09 May 2012
-- Company pursuing business expansion in Russian Far East --
Nippon Express (Russia) LLC ("NE Russia"; Toshikazu Shimizu, President), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Kenji Watanabe, President), will open a sub-branch in Vladivostok on or around June 1.
A commercial city located in the Russian Far East, Vladivostok is known as one terminus of the Trans-Siberian Railway (TSR) that runs to markets in European Russia. Economic activity in the city has been invigorated by major Russian domestic car manufacturers starting up plants and Japanese companies setting up local operations. With the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit meeting scheduled to take place in Vladivostok this September, extensive infrastructure improvements are underway.
The opening of this sub-branch is designed to bolster Nippon Express' efforts to meet the growing logistics needs of the Russian Far East, and the Company plans to augment its transport services by positioning Vladivostok as a gateway to Russia's interior from Japan and the rest of Asia. This sub-branch will bring Nippon Express' Russian network to seven locations in five cities.
Nippon Express is committed to further improving its services and expanding/enhancing its overseas network in order to better satisfy the increasingly diverse and sophisticated logistics needs of customers.
