PSS reforms its corporate structure, effective July 1, to establish three governing groups, to meet diversified global demand

Matsudo, Japan, May 14, 2012 - Precision System Science, Co., Ltd (PSS), Precision System Science, USA, Inc. announced that it has decided the reorganization of its corporate structure, effective July 1, to promote effective oversea business and swift commercialization of developed products by setting up three governing groups; that is, Global sales & Marketing Group, Production and Supply Management Group and Corporate Management Group.

PSS, having developed and supplied instruments worldwide for DNA/gene analysis, intends to facilitate and vitalize its oversea operation and will introduce governing group organization that systematizes the function of current divisions and subsidiaries to enables the consistent and exact responses to global requirements. Mr. Hideji Tajima, president and CEO of PSS would take over president position of Precision System Science Europe GmbH (PSSE) as Mr. Udo Kubowski, president of PSSE, is to retire at the end of June, 2012. Dr. Kimimichi Obata, president of Precision System Science, Inc. (PSS USA) is to manage Global sales & Marketing Group, the central focus in this reorganization, governing PSS USA, PSSE and PSS Business Division.

Production and Supply Management Group, led by Nobuo Nagaoka, General Manager, Supply Chain Management Division, is responsible for commercial production of developed product, governing Design & Manufacturing Division, Software Development Division, Supply Chain Management Division and Quality Assurance Division. Corporate Management Group, led by Jun Akimoto, General Manager, Finance & Administration Division, is responsible of overall PSS group business management, governing Finance & Administration Division, Sales (Japan) Division, etc.

Most of PSS revenue is generated from oversea business and the number of deals of development and collaboration to seek commercialization has significantly increased; therefore, integrated information management throughout PSS group has become imperative. Newly established Global sales & Marketing Group should correctly understand the element technologies and requirements from those ventures, laboratories or large corporations, which have become multi-national through M&A. PSS must appropriately allocate human resources in the PSS group and focus on the targeted areas. PSS has adopted trans-divisional project system for development and commercialization of each product. We will expand the project membership to oversea subsidiaries (PSS USA, PSSE), Universal Bio research Co., Ltd. (UBR), subcontract manufacturers, experts, etc. and reorganize the development structure to promptly response to the diversified demands.

PSS will functionalize new structure and meet the expectations without lagging behind the progress in the DNA/genetic analysis industry based on precious experiences that we have accumulated.

Personnel changes

As Mr. Tetsuji Nishimura, Director and General Manager of Business Division informed of his intention of retirement, he will leave PSS at the end of June, 2012.
