Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Kenji Watanabe, President), established Nippon Express (South Asia & Oceania) Pte, Ltd. ("NE South Asia-Oceania"; Shuji Kojima, President), on April 1 as a regional headquarters company for South Asia-Oceania.
NE South Asia-Oceania oversees 18 local subsidiaries as the regional headquarters company. With companies increasingly relying on cross-border horizontal divisions of labor, Nippon Express has found it necessary to expand its cross-border transport network within this region. The newly established regional headquarters company will pursue a unified regional sales structure by serving as a holding company for the subsidiaries under its charge in an effort to centralize capital and by enabling more rapid business decision-making in response to developments in regional markets.
Nippon Express has organized its global operations into a quintipolar framework, with regional headquarters in the Americas, Europe, East Asia, and South Asia-Oceania coordinating with Group headquarters in Japan, and will be seeking to attain further growth as a global logistics company by enhancing governance in each of these regions via the regional headquarters companies.
