(Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Mr. Nobuo KITA; hereinafter referred to as SIOS; listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers Index, number 3744) announce a backup solution which uses a system clustered by SIOS HA cluster software LifeKeeper with MIRACLE LINUX system backup software MIRACLE System Savior (hereinafter referred to as MSS).
The MIRACLE LINUX and SIOS business partnership provides a service that includes installation and construction.

MSS is an enterprise system backup software which with the cooperation of HP Consulting in Japan was developed based on local needs. Due to the complexity involved with being unable to support third party products using the virtual environment or SANboot/FC multipath configurations and so on for offline backup, improvements are being made in order to provide a comprehensive support system that ensures a reliable backup and restoration for advanced IT systems in addition to 24 hour support and long-term support for up to 7 years.

LifeKeeper is HA cluster software that bypasses systems that are down by performing an automatic switch to standby systems whenever information systems fail. Compatible with various hardware and software, it is able to increase system availability by utilizing the existing environment as it is. In contrast to other products, characterized by a user-friendly GUI it is possible to construct and operate a corporate system’s cluster environment simply.

By combining MSS and LifeKeeper it is possible to reduce work relating to system recovery in addition to improving service continuity during malfunctions.

Until now, whenever a conventional application server experienced a malfunction, following a switch to the standby server by LifeKeeper, recovering the malfunctioning server, various system settings and data storage, etc. involved virtually one day of work. With this solution, LifeKeeper at the time of the construction of the cluster system uses MSS to maintain the system backup so that not only can the system continue but within just over one hour it becomes possible for LifeKeeper to recover the original cluster configuration system.

This collaboration between MIRACLE LINUX and SIOS has until now made the previously difficult cluster environment system backup support simple, lending powerful support to IT system disaster recovery measures.
