TAMRON ANNOUNCES DEVELOPMENT OF 3-MEGA-PIXEL FIXED-FOCAL LENS FOR TRAFFIC SURVEILLANCE
1/1.8" -format 35mm F/1.4 Model M118FM35-II
November 1, 2012 - Tamron Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Saitama City; President Morio Ono), comprehensive optics manufacturer and leader company in the security industry, announces development of Model M118FM35-II, 1/1.8" fixed-focal lens that is compatible with 3-Mega-pixel-machine-vision camera.
The Development Concept
In recent years ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) has been receiving attention world-wide, with rising demand for high sensitivity and high resolution, which result in larger imager size. In order to meet with market requirement, Tamron announces development of lens which is suitable for traffic application with brighter and higher resolution. This lens will contribute especially for license plate recognition or face recognition.
Main Features
- High-performance lens design which is suitable for ITS
- 3 Mega-pixel resolution also identifiable at peripheral. Especially for long distance surveillance mainly used for traffic system, result will be more recognizable in traffic surveillance.
- Further improvement in operation and user-friendliness
- To operate focus adjustment easier, focus adjustment angle is widened.
Lens is designed so various filters can be applied for many situations.
- Durability enhancement
- To be used in various conditions, metal mount is being applied for higher durability.
