Establishment of the “NTN LOGISTICS CO., LTD.” Logistics Subsidiary for the NTN Group
NTN Corporation (hereafter, NTN) hereby announces that it has decided to establish the “NTN LOGISTICS CO., LTD.” (hereafter, NTN LOGISTICS) logistics subsidiary on April 1, 2013 to increase efficiency of the group's logistics business and help reduce costs.
1. Purpose of establishing the new company
NTN is focusing on restructuring its logistics business as part of “structural reform” with the aim of “reforming business structure to generate profit” within the scope of the new medium-term management plan “Revival 2014”.
Reforms to the logistics business will involve transfer of business conducted by the NTN Logistics Dept. to a logistics subsidiary by establishing a new “NTN LOGISTICS” to exclusively cover the logistics business of the NTN Group. This will allow centralized management of the logistics business throughout group companies.
“NTN LOGISTICS” will aim to reduce logistics costs by more efficient transportation through centralized management of finished products, semi-finished products and procured parts, elimination and consolidation of logistics centers, reviews and improvements of packaging specifications, eliminating various aspects of wasted work by visualization of logistics costs. A service will be provided to ensure customer satisfaction, including improving logistics quality and implementing safety and environmental measures, as well as focusing on making contributions to the society.
2. Future plans
Begin business operations from April 1, 2013.
Finished products will be the first to be covered by the logistics business, with services expanding to cover semi-finished products half a year later, and procured parts after one year.
