OKI Data Improves IT Governance in the EU Region and Implements IT Cost Reductions
Utilizes NTT DATA's Global Hosting Service "INERPIA"
TOKYO, August 2, 2013 -- Oki Data Corporation (hereafter, OKI Data) migrated its core system data center in the EU region to NTT DATA Corporation's (hereafter, NTT DATA) Poland data center and began full-scale operations from July. This move has achieved a 20% reduction in server maintenance and operation costs, and helped to improve IT governance.
In its program for the enhancement of management base announced in March 2013, OKI Data has developed profitability improvement measures to be achieved by reducing fixed costs, with standardization and greater efficiency being implemented as a means of reducing costs of IT systems. Core systems throughout Asia including Japan have already been migrated to the Malaysia data center supplied by NTT DATA, and combined with the outsourcing of operating service work, have helped to achieve major reductions in costs. Both companies have developed standards for globally uniform operating service content so that a system with the same level of quality as that in Japan and Asia can be operated in the EU region. This will enable server maintenance and operating costs to be reduced by approximately 20%, while also helping to improve IT governance.
The NTT DATA Group effectively utilizes its global resources to operate in response to demands from Japanese companies such as the need to streamline IT operation costs on a global level, or improve global IT governance. The INERPIA® global hosting service at the Poland data center which OKI Data has implemented is supplied by NTT DATA Global Solutions Corporation, part of the NTT DATA Group. Moving forward, the company plans to provide services by addressing regional characteristics and customer needs worldwide.
OKI Data will continue to maintain and improve IT infrastructure, strategically reduce costs of information systems, and improve governance in other regions.
