Hitachi Chemical Co., Ltd.
Launch of Commercial Food Wrap Film that is Easier to See Development of a blue wrap that makes it easy to find torn pieces of film
Hitachi Chemical Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Tokyo; President and CEO: Kazuyuki Tanaka; Capital: 15.5 billion yen; hereinafter referred to as Hitachi Chemical) today launches a blue-colored wrap, Hitachi Wrap, Blue Type, for Commercial Use that makes it easy to find torn fragments of the film that may have inadvertently become caught in food at preparation sites and can also be used to distinguish items from those wrapped in regular transparent film.
In recent years, food safety control such as hygiene management is becoming increasingly important in food preparation factories, meal-production facilities, and hotel kitchens. Food preparation sites have sought a way to counter problems with food wraps, such as wrap film getting mixed into food and being difficult to detect due to its transparency.
Hitachi Chemical therefore developed Hitachi Wrap, Blue Type, for Commercial Use that adopts the color blue, which is rarely found in Japanese food ingredients. This not only makes it easy to detect pieces of wrap film that have become mixed into food, it can also be used alongside regular transparent wrap to distinguish dishes. Full-scale sale begins today, August 28.
In addition to this product, Hitachi Chemical has a wide-ranging lineup of cling wrap for commercial kitchen use developed for various purposes, including the highly-appraised Hitachi Wrap and Hitachi Wrap Neo, which has superior preserving quality, heat- and cold-resistance. Hitachi Chemical continues to contribute to food safety and boost customer satisfaction by striving to develop products that meet customer needs.
