Dai Nippon Printing Uses SIOS "LifeKeeper" for Its "POINT TACTiX®" Point Service
High System Speed and Reliability through Integration with "ioDrive2"
SIOS Technology, Inc. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director : Mr. Nobuo KITA; hereinafter referred to as SIOS; listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers Index, number 3744) announces that Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as DNP) has chosen "LifeKeeper" for use in its "POINT TACTiX®" ASP point system solution. LifeKeeper is SIOS's HA cluster software (*1), which supports integration with Fusion-io's "ioDrive2" (*2).
DNP selected LifeKeeper based on highly positive evaluations of the tremendous benefits offered by a solution integrating ioDrive2 and LifeKeeper. This combined solution made it possible for DNP to achieve increased service operation stability in a short amount of time by improving system processing speed and providing high levels of reliability.
DNP's point system solution, POINT TACTiX®, offers full support for everything from the acquisition, storage, and management of data such as customer information and purchasing information to their analysis and utilization. DNP is constantly enhancing its functionality and optimizing its systems in order to improve service quality. It has positioned high system-wide speeds and stable operation as high priorities, and carried out various studies.
In order to achieve these objectives efficiently, DNP focused on an integrated solution which combines Fusion-io's ultra-high speed ioDrive2 storage with SIOS's LifeKeeper HA cluster software, which can continue providing a stable level of service even in the event of system problems.
The integrated solution of ioDrive2 and LifeKeeper can prove especially beneficial for database management systems (DBMS). Generally speaking, storage I/O(*3) performance has a significant impact on DBMS processing speed. ioDrive2 is an ultra-high speed storage product with dramatically enhanced I/O capabilities, making it possible to improve performance system-wide.
LifeKeeper is combined with this ioDrive2-based DBMS to provide redundancy. Even in the event of a system failure, it can automatically switch to standby servers in order to provide uninterrupted service. This minimizes data loss and system down time, and makes rapid service recovery possible.
DNP's use of an integrated solution combining ioDrive2 and LifeKeeper improved system-wide performance while also providing system protection, as well as providing the company with the benefits of low costs and rapid system construction times.
SIOS will continue to enhance its integration with various high-speed devices, for which there is growing demand, and offer high performance, high availability, high ROI solutions.
