Dallas Business Journal Names Fujitsu Utility Practice Director to “Who’s Who in Energy” List
John Chowdhury Recognized for Modernizing Utilities Communications Networks
Richardson, TX, January 15, 2014 — Fujitsu, a leading provider of business, information technology, and communications solutions, announced today that the Dallas Business Journal (DBJ) named John Chowdhury, Utility Practice Director, Fujitsu Network Communications, Inc., to its annual “Who’s Who in Energy.” Editors describe those who made the list as “…the movers and shakers in the ever-changing, fast-moving energy industry ….”
In recognizing Chowdhury’s contributions to the industry, the DBJ cited his “…efforts to modernize the electric grid, making it secure, cost-effective, resilient, scalable and ready for smart grid implementation.” His 25 years in the energy industry includes playing a pivotal role in designing and securing funding for the nation’s first-ever Smart Grid implementation.

Chowdhury’s roots in the utilities industry run deep. In addition to his role at Fujitsu Network Communications, he is known for co-founding the Center for Utility Innovation (http://www.smarterutility.com) with the White House Office of the CTO. He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Communications Society, a Board member of Utilities Smart Network Council, Advisor to the NRECA Technology Innovation Board and an advisor to the University of Tulsa’s Masters of Energy Program.
