Fujitsu Launches New Android Tablet and Two New Laptops for Enterprises

Tokyo, April 16, 2014 — Fujitsu today announced that it will commence sales in Japan of three new enterprise products in three product families, consisting of one new Wi-Fi tablet running Android™ 4.2, and two new laptops running Windows 8.1 Pro.

The Android tablet is the FUJITSU Tablet ARROWS Tab M504/HA4, which can be customized to suit a variety of business settings. The laptops are the FUJITSU PC LIFEBOOK S904/J with an ultra-mobile design, and the FUJITSU PC LIFEBOOK E734/H, which brings a CLEARSURE⁽¹⁾ model to the line. CLEARSURE is a solution for remotely deleting⁽²⁾ the data on a device using a PHS module.

Using Custom Made Plus Service⁽³⁾ enables a range of customization that meets the needs of specific operating environments. This includes the pre-installation of customer applications required to complete business tasks, settings that can disable unnecessary basic applications, or other settings that can prevent end-users from freely downloading applications.

(2) Robust basic features for easy operations
The MediaTek MT8125 quad-core processor is supported by Android™ 4.2 and ensures fast processing. The 10.1″ IPS screen offers wide viewing angles and an ample work area, along with a sharp 1280 × 800 pixel resolution. The ten-point touchscreen supports ten simultaneous touch points, and Fujitsu's own NX!input is standard-equipped to allow for text input by hand, making for easy operation.

The new tablet becomes even more convenient and contributes to greater tablet usage for business tasks when used in tandem with FUJITSU Cloud PaaS MobileSUITE⁽⁴⁾, the mobile service platform that links tablets to a wide range of industry-specific applications and services.

Benefits of using MobileSUITE

• Tablet users can use an application called Mobile Portal that lets them browse the applications and information used for business, giving them a quick and easy way to access a wide range of useful services and information.
• System managers can leverage MobileSUITE for integrated management of tablet assets, published information, and user IDs.

2. Enhancements to the LIFEBOOK line of enterprise laptops

Fujitsu has added the LIFEBOOK S904/J to its LIFEBOOK S Series of ultra-slim mobile PCs, giving customers an additional screen-size option⁽⁵⁾ of a 13.3″ full HD (1920 × 1080 pixel) LCD panel. In the LIFEBOOK E Series, which adopts a common design with three models that have different screen sizes, there is the new E734/H model (13.3″ screen) that offers CLEARSURE, a remote data-deletion solution available with a PHS module.

Glossary and Notes

1 CLEARSURE:

In addition to LIFEBOOK E734/H, the wireless WAN model LIFEBOOK S904/J is also compatible with CLEARSURE 3G/LTE when used with a wireless WAN module. Use of CLEARSURE 3G/LTE requires subscription to MobileSUITE Terminal-Management CLEARSURE 3G/LTE Service, as well as phone service that supports SMS.

2 Data deleting:

With CLEARSURE, the hard disk drive or solid-state drive includes an encryption function, and the decryption key needed to decrypt the contents of the drive is deleted, rendering the contents of the drive unrecoverable. The data itself that is stored on the hard drive or solid state drive is not deleted. This function can only be used with encrypted hard drives or solid-state drives chosen as part of a customized selection.

3 Custom Made Plus Service:

Kitting service to outfit equipment for business operations. Additional fee required.

4 FUJITSU Cloud PaaS MobileSUITE:

MobileSUITE usage requires a separate service contract.

5 Additional screen-size option:

The LIFEBOOK S904/J comes standard with a 13.3″ full-HD (1920 × 1080 pixel) LCD screen, and is available with a 13.3″ WQHD (2560 × 1440 pixel) IGZO screen as a custom-made option.
