RIKEI CORPORATION AND ALCATEL-LUCENT ENTERPRISE CONCLUDE A PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT – AIMING TO EXPAND SALES TO COMPANIES, LOCAL GOVERNMENTS AND EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN JAPAN.
Rikei Corporation (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Tetsuo Kuroda; hereafter called "Rikei") and Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (Head Office: France; CEO: Michel Emelianoff; hereinafter called "ALE") would like to announce that a distributor agreement has been concluded between the two companies concerning ALE's solutions and products intended for use by enterprises. Through this partnership arrangement, Rikei will aggressively try to expand sales of ALE's switches for enterprises and other solutions and products to ordinary companies, local governments and educational institutions in Japan and also to the Asia-Pacific region under full support from ALE.
Rikei starts to sell "OmniSwitch 6900", "OmniSwitch 6855", "OmniSwitch 6850E", "OmniSwitch 6450" and "OmniSwitch 6860" which will constitute switch solutions for data centers. Switch solutions for IP networking realize any-to-any 10 Gbit Ethernet connectivity and also support 40 Gbit Ethernet and Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) (*1), using technologies of Virtual Chassis (VC) (*2) and Captive Portal (CP) (*3). A switch solution for IP networking typically is a combination of some of the following products.
- Switch (OmniSwitch 6900 stackable LAN switch) for 10 Gbit Ethernet
- Total network management tool (Alcatel-Lucent OmniVista™ 2500 Virtual Machine Manager)
- LAN switch "OmniSwitch 6855" which features high durability, high thermal resistance and high security.
- Switch (OmniSwitch 6855E stackable LAN switch) capable of supporting Gbit Ethernet
- LAN switch (OmniSwitch 6860E) designed to support policies of Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) (*4) and SDN.
- Simple switch (OmniSwitch 6450) supporting Gbit Ethernet
OmniSwitch series, combined with ALE's OmniAccess WLAN products, support various integrated services between wired and wireless networks by means of Unified Access (UA).
Concerning the conclusion of the partnership relationship through the distributor agreement between Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise and Rikei, Mr. Kenichi Wada, Director, Enterprise Business Division of Alcatel-Lucent Japan Ltd. stated as follows.
