Shimizu awarded a huge Hospital project in Singapore.Changi General Hospital Medical Centre
Shimizu Corporation (President MIYAMOTO Yoichi) organized a Joint-Venture with a local company, and was awarded Changi General Hospital Medical Centre project (CGH Medical Centre) from Ministry of Health in Singapore. The project amount awarded is about 15 billion yen (Shimizu’s JV Amount, 70%). Due to an aging population in Singapore, it is expected that there will be an increase in medical facilities. Shimizu will continue to expand their business proposal in this field and try to secure potential projects.
CGH Medical Centre will be built in the area of Changi General Hospital’s vicinity which is located close to Changi international airport, and will provide innovative specialized outpatient services. CGH Medical Centre consists of 9 stories floor and 3 stories underground floor. The site area is 4,575m2, and the total floor area is 64,497m2. The construction period is from Sep 2014 to Jun 2017. Underground floor will be used as car parking area.
CGH Medical Centre project has been secured through an open tender, a total of 11 companies took part in this tender, and finally 6 companies from Japan, Singapore and Australia were shortlisted. Shimizu had been successful awarded this project through a strong competitive technical proposal and bid cost. In the review process of the technical proposal, Shimizu’s track records like National Heart Centre (completed), Yishun Community Hospital (on-going project) and the technical support team from Japan gained high reputation.
