PSS reaches Agreement to Supply Abbott with Two Types of Sample Prep System
Matsudo, Japan, Nov 14, 2014 - Precision System Science, Co., Ltd (PSS) and Abbott have reached an agreement for PSS to supply two* types of sample prep system and exclusive plastic consumables for Abbott’s new clinical laboratory system. Under the agreement, PSS will supply automated systems and exclusive consumables, and its PSS Odate Reagent Center will manufacture Abbott’s reagent on assignment.
The Sample Prep systems to be supplied are designed to utilize original PSS technology along with Abbott’s platform to automate the sample preparation process and enable faster, more efficient tests.
・*2 types of Sample Prep system
1. Front-end sample preparation instrument (nSP)
For the automated sample-preparation process, including aliquoting and purifying of samples, in order to perform tests faster and more efficiently.
2. Compact automated PCR cleanup instrument (nDS)
The nDS processes PCR products to eliminate salts remove low molecular weight chemical noise by using innovative technologies, including Master Tip™**.
・**Master Tip™ technology
The Master Tip™ is designed to serve demand for high-throughput and low system cost in molecular platforms. Incorporation of the Master Tip™ is expected to help improve performance and laboratory efficiency.
