ITOCHU Announces ITOCHU Children's Dreams Fund Support Project for Disaster-Affected Areas: Overview of the ITOCHU Children's Dreams Snowboarding Class

ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Masahiro Okafuji, President & CEO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) announced today that it is organizing the ITOCHU Children’s Dreams Snowboarding Class through the ITOCHU Children’s Dreams Fund, which was established in March 2013 as part of the company’s assistance program to support the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.

The class will be held as an event to assist children in the Tohoku region who aspire to become professional snowboarders as part of the ITOCHU Children’s Dreams Fund to support the dreams of children from areas affected by the disaster. The invited instructors include Ikumi Imai and Haruna Matsumoto, the All Japan Champions in 2015, Natsuki Sato, selected for the World Championships 2015, and other internationally active snowboarders. They will personally instruct the children, providing them with opportunities to directly learn how to jump from top athletes. There will also be a presentation session in which the children can show off what they learned and practiced. In addition, the children will receive complimentary products from AIRWALK, the official supplier of the Japan Snowboard Team and a brand handled by Itochu Corporation..

ITOCHU will continue to provide support for the reconstruction efforts of the area affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake in the future. It will work through the Children’s Dreams Fund and conduct many other activities based on its approach to humanitarian issues and the development of future generations specified by ITOCHU in its basic activity guidelines on social contribution.
