SHIMA SEIKI to Exhibit at SPIN EXPO

Leading computerized knitting machine manufacturer SHIMA SEIKI MFG., LTD. of Wakayama, Japan, together with its Hong Kong subsidiary SHIMA SEIKI (HONG KONG) LTD., will participate in the 27th Session of SPIN EXPO in Shanghai, China this March.

SHIMA SEIKI will be displaying a knitting machine for the first time at SPIN EXPO. On display will be the flagship MACH2XS WHOLEGARMENT knitting machine, featuring SHIMA SEIKI's original SlideNeedle on four needle beds and spring-loaded moveable sinkers. MACH2XS offers higher efficiency and greater stability with expanded patterning capability while knitting WHOLEGARMENT items, and should provide an interesting technological dimension to the yarn and fabrics show with its capability to produce complete knitwear right on the machine without sewing or linking.

Also on display will be the latest version of SHIMA SEIKI's "SDS-ONE APEX3" 3D design system. APEX3 is at the core of SHIMA SEIKI's "Total Fashion System" concept, made possible due to its comprehensive support of the knit apparel production process from planning and production to sales promotion, as well as its capability for Virtual Sampling. Ultra-realistic simulation capability allows Virtual Sampling to minimize the costly time- and resource-consuming sample-making process. APEX3 also supports design and simulation in a variety of other industries such as circular knitting, weaving, pile weaving and printing.

Also on display will be the latest collection of knit samples, including seam-free WHOLEGARMENT knitwear that features superior fit, comfort and draping characteristics.
